D1 - Powered Air-Purifying Respirator, Hood

OptimAir^® 6 PAPR with Hood

   Has a shoulder-length Tyvek hood and a belt-mounted motor/blower assembly with detachable HEPA filters, which are supplied for protection against dusts, mists and fumes only.
   Mounted behind the worker on the unit's PVC waist belt, the motor/blower assembly consists of:  a brush-type motor rated for 1,500 hours of service; an impeller that delivers a minimum of 6 cfm of air to the user; and a sealed battery pack that delivers 8 hours of service on a full charge.  A 19" flexible breathing tube connects the motor/blower module to the hood.
   The exhalation valve controls air flow to provide a constant positive pressure within the hood.  A disposable lens eliminates the inconvenience of lens cleaning, and the air distribution system keeps the lens fog-free.  A hard hat can be worn under the hood when head protection is needed.

   Mounted on the unit's coated nylon web belt, the motor/blower assembly includes:  a brush-type motor rated for 1,500 hours of service; an impeller that delivers a minimum of 6 cfm of air to the user; and a NiCad battery pack that delivers 8 hours of service on a full charge.  A 19" breathing tube connects the motor/blower to the hood.
   The hood's exhalation valve controls air flow to provide a constant positive pressure within the hood.  A disposable lens eliminates the inconvenience of lens cleaning, and the air distribution system keeps the lens fog-free.  A hard hat can be worn under the hood.
