Developing
and implementing a managed fall protection program is the most effective
method to identify, evaluate, and eliminate or control fall hazards through: o
Planning;

Training
of personnel exposed to fall hazards; o
Installing
and using proper fall protection and rescue systems; and o
Implementing
safe fall protection and rescue procedures. |

standard covers only the minimum requirements for a managed fall
protection program. The intent of the
standard is to set up minimum guidelines to enhance employee safety. |

The
Fall Protection Standard does not apply to the construction industry and
sporting activities. |
|
|
§
An
employer does not have to meet the Fall Protection Standard requirements if
it is not feasible. However, the
employer shall implement fall protection measures that provide employees with
an equivalent level of protection. |

§
These
requirements only cover when employees are exposed to falls from one
elevation to another. It does not
cover slips and trips (falls to the same elevation). |
