Product Information Bourke Eye Shields have been a tradition in the fire service and on Cairns helmets for decades. Have you ever wondered where they came from? Well, for starters, they were invented by FDNY firefighter Lester "Les" Bourke, and were introduced exclusively on Cairns leather fire helmets in 1966.
